Scott and Darryl did a tremendous job for us. We are delighted with the results and found them easy to work with throughout the inevitable changes in specification and challenges presented by the unpredictable spring weather.

We chose SPL Paving limited for our raised driveway project after reading many reviews and seeing photos of their work. Our project wasn’t just a raised driveway, as it also needed to be both heavy duty, due to the size and weight of our vehicles, whilst having a nice kerb appeal and be practical. Therefore, the retaining walls were made with vertical galvanised steel girders and railway sleepers, both for long term strength and durability, but also for appearance. This was actually a suggestion made by Scott at the initial quotation stage. The project gave Scott and Darryl the added challenges of working with various different levels across the site, whilst ensuring a natural flow between new access steps to the front of the house, a sturdy bin store area and new boundary fencing. The main drive consisted of large stone trap mats with built in weed barriers and a few tonne of 20mm stone on top of a compacted hardcore base. This was finished off with a block paved access apron across the front of the driveway with the nice touch of having our house number incorporated in the paving design. It was obvious that Scott and Darryl used very good quality products and materials throughout the build. They are clearly both very skilled and experienced in their trade, taking pride in their work, managed the project with great efficiency and kept us involved in every aspect of the build from design to completion. They were a pleasure to work with and were both considerate to, and got on well with our neighbours. We certainly wouldn’t have any hesitation in recommending them to anyone thinking about having similar landscaping work carried out.

We recently had SPL paving do a patio for our garden. We are so pleased, looks great, we went with the sandstone slabs which made our patio look so nice and so spacious. They carried out the work so quickly and transformed our space just how we wanted it. Would highly recommend.

I'm sure these guys do a great job based on their reviews but I agreed for Scott to come and quote for a job and he didn't turn up (I stayed in on a holiday day) and didn't even call or email to tell me he wouldn't be coming. I appreciate other jobs and life can get in the way but not informing a prospective customer that you're unable to make a meeting is poor customer service, hence this review. I will update the review if anything changes.

SPL are a highly professional organisation who have just completed an outstanding project for us. They were extremely accommodating to our buisness needs and worked with us to get the job done with as little disruption as possible. We have already booked them for our next job!
