Edwards Surfacing

Edwards Surfacing was founded by Ken Edwards in 2006 and is a family-run business based in North Buckinghamshire. Ken Edwards is a Member of the Institute of Asphalt Technology (MIAT) and has over 40 years of experience in the surfacing industry, while the company's management and site teams have over 60 years of combined experience. Edwards Surfacing works with private homeowners, commercial clients, local authorities, and main contractors, and its service area includes London, the South East, and the Midlands.

The company provides asphalt or macadam tarmac surfacing for roads and highways, car parks and forecourts, driveways and private roads, footpaths and pedestrian areas, and commercial and industrial premises. It offers resin-bound and block paving finishes, groundworks including site preparation, excavation, and sub-base installation, and road markings, car park lining, and safety markings. Its operatives are fully qualified and its teams are fully insured. The team includes Managing Director Simon Edwards, Operations Director Martin Kynsey, surveyors Tom Lowery and Jack Arnold, and Director Peter Edwards.

Driveway resurfacing, tarmacking and block paving work form the core of what Edwards Surfacing delivers across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area, and the accounts gathered from completed projects return again and again to the same qualities. More than one customer describes a thorough initial consultation in which Simon Edwards examines the site in detail, sets out the available options and raises practical considerations the householder had not thought through, before a written quotation follows.

Reviewers often mention punctuality and reliability once work starts, with teams arriving when promised and finishing within the agreed timescale, sometimes within two days on a domestic drive. Named staff including Steve, Martin, Dave and foreman Burt are singled out for being friendly, knowledgeable and hardworking, while an aspect raised across a number of reviews is how considerate the crews are towards neighbours, moving plant and vans so that access is not blocked.

Tidiness during and after the job is praised, as is the quality of the finished surface, whether a long private drive, a charity car park extension or a highways entrance with built-up stone layers and tested tarmac courses. Customers also note clear communication from first visit to completion and a willingness to go beyond the original specification.
