If, like I was last month, you're reading reviews, looking to get your driveway done, you need to keep looking. To describe these guys as cowboys is an understatement. From day 1, this company was nothing but a headache. They will do the bare minimum amount of work, as quickly as possible with no interest in quality or finish. I renovate houses for a living and have been in the trades for years. On my latest property I was running out of time to get it done, so I hired City Paving to do the driveway. I was told the job would be done in 1 week. 6 weeks later I was still trying to get them to finish. There was not one occasion when they turned up on the agreed day to do the work. No phone calls, no messages, just no shows. Then they'll show up unannounced, wreck the place and leave without cleaning up. Young guys with no supervision and no idea what they're doing. They had no tools, so kept asking to borrow mine; several of which were either stolen or returned broken. I lost days of my own time, trying to supervise them and get a decent finish. Every so often, John (apparently the owner) showed up, agreed the work was terrible and promised to come and sort everything out. Then he would fail to show up too, and instead I'd get a "supervisor" who would do another half assed fix. At every stage they'd demand payment at the end of the day, even when they'd achieved nothing. I'd say this is a clear tactic to get as much money form people as soon as possible because they know exactly how bad their work is, and that people would pay nothing were they to see the finished product. The only way I got them to even half finish is by with-holding some of the payment. They will pressure you for cash immediately, and I fear for anyone who would be vulnerable to this pressure tactic. They left my property covered in rubbish and building materials for weeks at a time. I've spent days scraping resin off my patio and freshly painted house, and picking rubble out of my front garden. No respect at all shown for my house, the guys will just throw their rubbish into your hedge. Eventually I just told them to forget it, and am currently finishing the job myself. It still needs tarmac work and all the render that was applied to the side blocking will need to be chiselled off and re-done. This is another days work that I'll have to do myself. Most people would have to hire another company. And even then the finish is terrible; huge dips in the resin finish, nothing level and unfinished edges. The most annoying thing is that my driveway is relatively small. This was a simple, easy job. I hired a company to make my life easier, but it caused me nothing but stress and problems. Chasing them to come back, arguing with them to try and get a decent finish, clearing up after them. I wish I'd just done the work myself. I don't do driveways, but anyone with even a small amount of construction knowledge could do a a better job than these clowns.

They were very efficient and did not waste any time starting the job and it was done to a very high level and I am very pleased with the final product

City Paving replaced my old red brick driveway with, lower maintenance, paving blocks made by Tobermore and covered a scruffy looking pathway with a resin top coat. I'm very pleased with the results of the team's hard work. The job was competitively priced and I used City Paving because it had the most professional approach to assessing the work and provided a written quotation/contract. The only problem was caused by a cat which walked on the path before the resin had hardened. John came to look at the damage within hours of my phone call and, fortunately, assured me that the paw prints could be repaired. I would not hesitate to use City Paving again.

Our side path regularly flooded. I had noticed their work when I was out walking in lockdown and I was impressed by the quality. I got in touch and John came round. He explained straight away what he recommended be done and gave us a price there and then. We were so impressed with the result that we decided to get the driveway done to match (grey bricks). They will be my go to builders for any future work. Excellent.

From start to finish john and his team of lads were very professional . knew what they were doing.and did a fantastic job of our resin driveway.we have gone from a 1 car driveway to a 3 car driveway.its put an extra 5-10% on the value of our home.even told us how long to wait before using driveway.and cordended it off with tubs to stop people walking on driveway.i would highly recommend city paving.just keep the tea and biscuits coming for the lads and there well happy.a job well done 10 out of 10 many thanks the Davies family
